Has any U.S. MMJ patient arranged an Italian prescription as a visitor?

An adult family member who is an established U.S. medical-cannabis patient will be in Sorrento and Rome with us for nine days this September. We know their U.S. authorization cannot be filled in Italy and does not authorize carrying cannabis across the border, so we are planning only through Italy’s medical system.

We want to understand the real patient experience: can a nonresident visitor book a private assessment with an Italian-licensed physician and, if the doctor considers it medically appropriate, receive a nonrepeatable Italian prescription for an authorized pharmacy? The patient can bring their diagnosis, complete records, current dosage, and a letter from their U.S. physician.

If you have done this lawfully, what documentation, tax-code or residency formalities, appointment lead time, and pharmacy preparation time were involved? We are especially interested in Campania, but Rome experience would also help.

Publicly verifiable medical resources and firsthand process information only, please. We are not seeking private sellers, dealers, or sourcing messages.
