Disclosure up front: I'm on the organizing side of this event, so I have a stake in it. I'm posting because Japan comes up as a market question fairly often and there is very little written about it in English.
JIHE (Japan International Hemp Expo) runs November 13-14, 2026 in Omotesando, Tokyo. Day 1 is a business day with an exhibition plus a conference track, Day 2 is open to the general public. Entry is free with pre-registration. The scope covers CBD products alongside hemp agriculture, construction materials, textiles, food and biotech. Sessions run with AI interpretation and there is visa invitation letter support for international attendees.
The part that may actually be useful to people here: Japan is an unusual market to operate in. THC is prohibited outright while CBD is legal, so product formulation, labelling and import requirements look nothing like the US or EU. In my experience the friction for foreign companies is almost always documentation rather than demand. Businesses assume the barrier is consumer interest, and it usually is not.
