I've gone back and forth on whether to post this, but figured Reddit is full of entrepreneurs, operators, and investors who appreciate opportunities before they become obvious.
I'm one of the founders of a licensed cannabis dispensary and consumption lounge project in New Jersey. After a long road of approvals, permitting, planning, and compliance, we've reached a major milestone: all municipal approvals and building permits have been secured, and we're scheduled to begin construction next month.
The challenge is one many startups face: Liquidity. We're looking for additional liquidity to keep momentum moving and ensure we can open before year-end.
What makes this project unique is that we're not building just another dispensary. We will also operate a consumption lounge, which positions us differently from most cannabis retailers in the state. Beyond the additional revenue opportunities, we see the lounge as a community-driven space that can become a hub for education, events, brand engagement, and future product development partnerships.
The location is exceptional. We're situated in one of New Jersey's busiest NYC commuter hubs and in one of the most affluent neighborhoods within our market. Between the foot traffic, commuter traffic, and lack of comparable consumption lounge experiences nearby while being in a prime nightlife space, we believe the long-term upside is substantial.
