How do you handle HR tasks?

I'll preface this with a promise: I am not trying to sell you anything.

This is 100% market research for me to feel out my career transition.

I've been in HR for a decade, working mostly for marketing companies, some of which specialized in the cannabis industry. I'm looking at branching out and specializing in HR for cannabis companies, but I know you face pain points that other industries don't.

I'd really appreciate your input. Please tell me if you have in-house HR, if you outsource, or if you figure it out yourself as you go. What tasks do you really hate? What confuses you?
