Opening a rec dispensary in Bozeman, MT. What insurance do we actually need?

Hey guys!

My buddy and I are in the early stages of opening a recreational dispensary in Bozeman. He is handling most of the retail and product side and I am focusing on the business and compliance side.

We are trying to lock in what insurance we actually need before we get too far. I know we need basic stuff like general liability and property but I have heard people mention product liability, crop coverage, workers comp, EPLI, etc. and honestly I do not want to screw this up.

She was super cool and actually broke it all down in plain English. Didn't realize there were insurance brokers who only do cannabis insurance.

Before we sign anything, I figured I would ask people here who have already opened up shop.

What insurance did you start with when you launched

Anything you wish you added sooner

Anything you thought was optional but turned out to be essential

Anything you overpaid for early on that you would skip now

We are just trying to avoid rookie mistakes and get this right the first time. Appreciate any advice. I will share what I learn too if it helps
