So, Strains for Life (145th & Broadway) keeps bragging about having the best products and this “amazing lounge experience.” They’ve thrown some fun events and pop-ups, sure — but the way they treat their staff? Absolutely foul.
they’ve got “big names” tied to it, but if you’ve worked under that umbrella, you already know it’s all the same circus — just different signs out front. Same people, same toxic energy.
Management stays worried about appearances while the place runs like chaos. They’re in the inventory room pulling product to smoke, lighting up all over the floor and lounge like compliance doesn’t exist. Then they’ll turn around and bully staff to push product that’s been sitting for months because no one knows how to order right.
Oh, and vendors? Good luck. They’ll “forget” to pay invoices, then order from another store they’re connected to and transfer the product over like nothing happened. 💀
Budtenders don’t even get the samples vendors drop off — those end up with the owners and their friends when they wanna have a little chill session. Meanwhile, the staff is out here guessing or buying their own just to know what they’re selling.
They banned their own team from using the lounge because “it was messy,” when the real problem is the owners get too high, make the mess themselves, and expect the team to clean up after them. Payroll is a mess too — people waiting through the weekend for checks because of “errors.”
It’s honestly a shame. They could’ve set the tone for NYC lounges, but instead they’re out here being the reason OCM is gonna start saying no to more.
If you’re a vendor trying to go from legacy to legal, do yourself a favor — stay far away from Stonewall and Indoor Treez. Their whole setup will have you losing money and patience
