I’m a chemical engineer by training (23M) and I’m trying to find a job right now, preferably in cannabis but honestly anywhere that doesn’t test for cannabis. I have some experience in the industry, more specifically a 3 month stint as a lab analyst/process technician at a company that refined mother liquor for a CBD enriched product and doing most of the setup for an ethanol-based extraction process. Due to archaic laws governing cannabis in the southeast those opportunities aren’t available anymore, ie why I’m back on the job search. However pretty much everything that shows up is unskilled labor, which would be wasting my education, or managerial jobs that won’t even consider me because I don’t have a decade of experience. Bit of a disorganized description but if anyone has any recommendations on where to look for a technical job in cannabis I’d really appreciate it. Also don’t mean to be negative to people working in unskilled labor I just worked my ass off to get the degrees I have so I’d be annoyed if I don’t get to use them.
TLDR need advice on getting an engineering/chemistry job in cannabis or a company that won’t test me for cannabis
