A little while back, I asked in here about pain points in cannabis retail, and one of the top comments was about discounts eating up margins and how tough it is to break out of that cycle. That stuck with me.
We ended up building out a campaign and a webinar series, basically calling it the “Discount Death Spiral.” It breaks down how average discounts are cutting into profit, why prices dropping since 2021 made it worse, and a plan for moving away from discounts into more loyalty and rewards stuff that doesn’t kill margins.
On our first webinar, we explored the discount data with Headset.io, which you can watch on demand. This week, we’re focusing on what those discounts actually do to customer retention.
