Hi all! We're a crew of independent trimmers (we aren't signed with any particular trimming companies) but we get called "on call" basis by them whenever they have jobs/ need the extra help.
Never steady work and the pay is shit, they pay us minimum wage for meticulous quality or $50/pound dry which we calculated is LESS than minimum wage sometimes when the product was so grown poorly.
Our bosses takes a huge cut from our labor (and that's not the worst part). It's the poor communication (where they either tell us the wrong place/time, don't give us shit about us, and doesn't answer calls until hours later after telling us to go in). So we quit the trimming jobs. It wasn't worth it with gas and all.
But recently, a couple cities from us a new cultivation indoor warehouse opened up. About an hour drive and we know they outsource their trimmers and packaging. They are open for inquiries on their website for jobs, vendors, collaborations, etc. as they're growing! Yay!
Our question is, how do we (about 10 of us) with plenty experience inquire to be their trimming crew? Do we message them stating we're a new company? Do we ask about their pay rate if they're looking for labor?
We're so anxious about the writing the email and don't want to fuck up the opportunity since this location is so close. It would be a dream to have steady work with them.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
