Hello, I (22F) am currently interested in going back to school (did some GE classes in 2022 but have been too busy to prioritize college up until recently) and I want a career in cannabis. Specifically, I am very fascinated by terpenes and cannabis for medical use. I would love to study the chemical compounds of cannabis and be able to research and potentially develop new medical uses for the plant. I have a lot to learn, hence the need for college, but I am curious what sort of college degree(s) would be useful for this type of career? I am open to graduate school.
Right now I am going to enroll in a community college and then transfer to a 4-year for a bachelor's, then so on and so forth. I have some time to think about what graduate school might look like, so for now I'm specifically interested in what undergraduate degree(s) would be useful. However, if you have advice on graduate school options, I'm more than happy to hear that as well! My question may seem a bit obvious, but honestly it seems like there are so many degree and college options and I feel a bit overwhelmed! Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
Also, as a follow up question, what sorts of careers exist in the cannabis industry for someone interested in plant research?
Please let me know if you have any questions for me. :)
