6 months ago my business partner and I launched a Cannabis Ad Agency without having a clue what we were doing. Now we figured out a solution while manyyyyy told us “you can’t do it”. Our goal was to run profitable Meta Ads for cannabis brands / Dispensaries. As many warned us, this task was not easy to achieve and felt impossible. Now we’re working on scaling a profitable campaign for one of our first clients.
I just wanted to share this post with anybody thinking of trying it and would give the advice of: go for it.
The inputs that matter:
Creative compliance is King. It’s maddening to communicate your product / brand while jumping through policy hoops where everything is under the microscope….little details ( like adding a 🌱 where we can) was a lever for our CPA. We keep finding more and more clever ways we’re finding to say everything without saying it outright
Compliant / Lightning fast landing page with server tracking and some other tricks…Our competitors sites are slow & clunky. Ours is fast. Instant loading. We’ve achieved over a 95+ score on performance.
Account reputation is just huge!
We definitely had a lot of industry vets kind of trashing or skeptical of the idea in general. We’re grateful for that feedback and advice of course but certainly glad we didn’t take it to heart. The first half year of our agency has been dedicated to research and testing the methodology, getting ads rejected, hitting walls etc. Now we’re feeling as excited as ever!
I’m happy to answer any questions you have about the process too.
