What is the actual future of small operators in this industry?

Between collapsing prices, changing regulations, impossible compliance costs, and big players dominating the market, it feels like small operators are being squeezed out from every angle. I keep hearing people say there’s still a path for craft, legacy, or local brands, but on the ground, it doesn’t feel that way. I know some folks are making it work, but I also know way more who are quietly shutting down or barely holding on.
