What should I expect entering the Canna-Biz?

I just landed a job as a lead role at a new dispensary location opening up. I’m really excited to start working and really eager to learn. I can’t wait to start my first day training and change my career path! Hoping to grow and learn in this industry.

I use to be a big stoner in my teen years. I smoked everyday. From wake-n-bake to before bed. I even ran a weed blog on tumblr (really love & miss that era) with show casing some great flower I would get and what not. I use to watch a lot of weed-tubers and made countless friendships online in the community that I still keep in touch with to this day. So needless to say, I have decent knowledge and this seems like a perfect fit for me. I was the happiest back then when I was more involved in the community.

I don’t smoke as often as I use to. I go through my stoner spurts where I’ll smoke daily for a while, and then stop smoking for weeks, even months. Then fall back into the cycle. I guess im mentioning this to state that I don’t view this job as a way to smoke at discount or not take it seriously. I genuinely want to learn and grow in this industry!

What I’m asking, is from someone who has experience in the industry, what’s it like? What should I expect? Have you experienced any fun events? As stated above, I got a leadership role. So I’ll be overlooking the budtenders and working on inventory. I’m familiar with inventory and customer service work already.

I feel like I already know what to expect somewhat, but just want to hear other people’s inputs and experience! Especially with what it’s like working underneath the managers and assisting them in this field of work. Everyone I met on the team seems super down to earth, and I’m hoping for a fun and productive environment!

Thanks for any input! Cheers 🍃💨
